Paper #1: Rhetorical Essay
The first essay we needed to write in this course was a rhetorical piece asking us to understand the usage of ChatGPT in the classroom environment. We needed to prompt ChatGPT to write a paper about the effects of climate change, and then analyze its writing style, tone, and evaluate the writing overall. Once the essay was generated, we needed to write about the potential of ChatGPT in the classroom environment.
Paper #2: Narrative Essay
The second essay we wrote in this course was a narrative paper of our choosing, but related to once of the experiences we’ve had in nature that have impacted us. Because we are currently living in New York, areas with nature are very scarce, and opportunities to interact with nature are limited, however I was able to have a recent experience in nature. Once leaving the school, I went through Saint Nicholas Park and ate Mulberry’s right from the tree. This experience brought about a thought process where I evaluated eating just that one berry tree. Below you can read the paper and understand just how fundamental that experience was.
Paper #3: Critical Analysis
The third essay written in this course was a critical analysis essay. This critical analysis entailed taking two articles regarding education, and discussing the change of education from past to present. In summary, education over time has changed due to race relations, a change in education from church and state, and societies interaction with Darwinism. The two articles were very informative in regards to the changes in the education environment, especially for children. You will find that paper below.
Paper #4: The Goddess
The final paper I wanted to include in my portfolio was an analytical essay I have written on a famous Chinese film called The Goddess. My paper discusses the film’s plot, as well as analyzing the characters in the film. I have included both the first and final draft of this paper in the hopes of showing my progression as a writer. Below you will find both of these papers. I changed the final draft to include more analysis of characters rather than analysis of the plot.
